What is your name?: Tracey Jayne Thomas
Where do you work?: Aberystwyth
How did you get started as an artist?: I have enjoyed drawing and being creative since I was a child. I pursued art as a mature student, studying art, design, graphic design and illustration. I have continued to study and attend life drawing classes etc.
How would you describe your work?
I have a broad range of styles, working in a variety of media. You can see my work by visiting my website at the address below.
Do you draw inspiration from your local area?: My home backs onto a small woodland on the rural outskirts of Aberystwyth. As a growing university town, it is vibrant yet peaceful and is a constant source of inspiration.
Where has your work been shown?: Last year I exhibited in Aberystwyth as part of the Ceredigion Art Society annual show. My piece 'Fire Six', was the winner of the public vote.
Do you have any exhibitions coming up?: I will be exhibiting in Aberystwyth Museum Gallery again this year, and focusing my attention on developing my web site.
Any thing else we should know?:My painting 'May Sycamore' is a finalist in the 'International Artist' magazine Flowers and Gardens competition, and will be published in their April/May edition.
