What is your name?: Sarah Clifton
Where do you work?: From home, between Meifod and Llanfyllin.
How did you get started as an artist?: I have drawn and sketched since school, but it is only since we moved to Mid Wales that I have found the time to develop my skills in watercolour painting and pastels.
How would you describe your work? I very much enjoy painting landscapes and buildings from my own photographs of the local area. I also enjoy painting flowers and natural objects as well as animals and pets.
I work predominantly in pastel but also in watercolour and coloured pencil. My artwork could be described as traditional and realistic.
Do you draw inspiration from your local area?: Very much so. The local landscapes are so varied and highly changeable from valley to valley. This together with the history and tranquility of the whole area forms the inspiration behind most of my work.
Where has your work been shown?: I am relatively new to producing commercial artwork but have just joined an online gallery.
Any thing else we should know?: I welcome any enquiries for commissions on pet portraits, buildings or landscapes.
