  • What is your name?: Robert Price

  • Where do you work?: Cilcennin in my studio.

  • How did you get started as an artist?: In 1989 I decided to leave my profession as an engineer and follow my life long dream to become an artist specialising in watercolours. I am entirely self-taught. I love to paint subjects from countryside, marine and coastal areas. Originally from Sussex I exhibited in galleries, art shows and was a member of the Guild of Sussex Artists. Living on the West Coast of Wales has given me new inspiration and my work is going from strength to strength.

  • How would you describe your work? Beautiful watercolours showing Welsh scenes with their glorious light and colours.

  • Do you draw inspiration from your local area?: I walk the four miles over the Trychrug hill every morning with its 360 degree views of the Welsh countryside and coastal areas where I am inspired to go home and paint everything.

  • Where has your work been shown?: In Sussex galleries and art exhibitions, in Parkhill Gallery/Framers, New Quay, in a one-man exhibition at the Guildhall, Cardigan, and at the Pentre Gallery also in Cardigan.

  • Do you have any exhibitions coming up?: One man exhibitions with sales for original paintings, limited edition prints, greeting cards and the 2008 calendar are coming up on 10 June 2007 for 1 week at the Guild Hall in Cardigan and at the same venue from 16 September 2007 for 2 weeks.

  • Any thing else we should know?: After a successful 2007 calendar we have produced a 2008 version available at the Memorial Hall Aberaeron Saturday Market 9.30-3.30, and at various local information centres, all the Ceredigion craft fairs and Parkhill Gallery/Framers in New Quay and Aberaeron.
