June Farrington is doing a Masters degree in art at the University of Wales Aberystwyth. It's a big change from the degree course she originally studied when she arrived at the college by the sea. Read on to find out more.

What is your name?: June Farrington
Where do you work?: Aberystwyth
How did you get started as an artist?: Always interested in art, I began drawing lessons in 1996 and began a degree course in 2002. I am currently working on my MA portfolio.
How would you describe your work?
Semi-abstract and abstract oil paintings with a landscape theme.
Do you draw inspiration from your local area?: My local area is the initial starting point for many of my works.
Where has your work been shown?: Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, London, Dolgellau, Llangollen.
Do you have any exhibitions coming up?: Toko, Aberystwyth, from November 2006 to January 2007
Any thing else we should know?: I originally trained as a Micropalaeontologist in Aberystwyth!

I like the paintings by June. I am very fond of the colours in abstract green in one of her paintings. I also like the "Waiting for you" painting. Soon, I'd like to buy one of her works. I collect original artwork from Wales and elsewhere.
