Olivia Bargman: Can You Stay Fit and Strong Like a Vegan?

Last updated: 04 April 2008

The Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown provides space for showcasing new works alongside the main programme. Exhibitions and publicity officer Emma Williams describes the latest exhibit and how artists can contact the gallery to exhibit their work:

  • More local artists...

  • Calling local artists...

!"We would like to receive applications from artists who can use the 'In Focus' space in as experimental and imaginative a way as possible. Although the room itself is quite small, (158(w) x 212(l) x 219cm(h)) it is extremely adaptable, and can be used for anything from video screenings to installation, sculpture or wall-based work. It really is a blank canvas.

Artists submitting works should include in their application a current CV, dimensions of the work(s), high resolution images (CD, photograph, slide) and/or a detailed proposal of how the work will appear in the space.

If works are unavailable during any period of time, this should be noted in your application.

All applications should be addressed to:

The 'In Focus' Space, Oriel Davies Gallery, The Park, Newtown, Powys SY16 2NZ

Applications can be submitted at any time and the exhibition programme are set to continue for the foreseeable future. Please allow up to 3 months for your work to be considered.Unfortunately there is no fee or budget offered for showing in the 'In Focus' space. However, the Gallery agrees to publicise the exhibition alongside our main programme and offer interpretation and technical assistance for installation where necessary."
