"Having won a Greener Festival Award for The Workhouse Festival in 2008, The Workhouse project and Sector 39 are providing a programme bursting at the seams with Eco focused bank holiday weekend fun, featuring Green based workshops, lectures, children's activities, arts, live music and entertainment there is something for everyone to enjoy.
This family friendly weekend has circus workshops, green wood crafts, basket making, herbal medicine, wool spinning, weaving and dying, DIY renewable energy systems, green building techniques, kid's art projects with live music and Ceilidh dancing in the evening. Children are free and the Fayre also features a children's story telling dome and child friendly camping.
There will also be more than 100 workshops over the weekend, talks, stalls, arts and crafts and a dedicated Cider Bar from Perry & Cider in Wales, plus family camping. Weekend camping tickets also include free entry to 5 workshops or events. The Green-Fayre also features local food producers around, serving all manner of locally grown, farmed and homemade treats.
With sustainable living, renewable energy and using local resources at the forefront of people's minds The Green-Fayre will give people the opportunity to learn new skills, get involved and listen to experts on permaculture, organic growing, forest gardening, DIY renewable energy systems, transition towns plus experience and gather a whole host of invaluable information and have immense amounts of fun at the same time. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.
The
The Green Fayre starts on 28 August at The Workhouse, Llanfyllin and runs all weekend until 30 August.
