"Theatr Brycheiniog's own gallery is named The Andrew Lamont Gallery in remembrance of the theatre's first general manager, a life-long thespian and supporter of the arts in Brecon.
Ours is not only a gallery for professional artists, but also for undergraduates studying art, graphic design, photography and textiles courses in South and West Wales, school pupils in the area studying art at GCSE and A levels and also for the local community.
Local art societies have also exhibited here, and in September 2007 we will be mounting a photographic exhibition cum competition with a specification of local images to mark the 10th anniversary of the theatre.
Brecon High School art students are currently exhibiting in the gallery. The work is of a very high standard, full of colour and movement and imagination, and with impressive attention to detail.
The exhibition runs until Monday 17 December. Exhibitions until the end of April 2008 include work by Clare Maynard, Michèle Wright and Richard Corbett. More details can be found in Theatr Brycheiniog's Spring 2008 brochure.
