Update on the Uni Union #3 (Peter & Linda)We returned to Aber in April 2007. Visited our old cottage in Llanbadarn (completely different place!), the student's union (not as smart as we remembered it!) and the Geography department (same as ever!). Our daughter Rhian (17) was with us - we walked the prom, kicked the bar, went to St. Michaels where we married (wonderful church), bought fish & chips ("the greatest ever"-Rhian) and sampled the pubs (say no more). We all loved it. Now I know why we have such great memories - Aber was (and is) simply the best place to be a student. If you are there, enjoy it for all it is worth.

I read Spanish at Aberystwyth (1995 -1999) and met Owain, my future husband there. We're getting married in Aber at the end of March after 10 years together!

I wrote this poem on a mundane afternoon in a tranquil room in Nottingham a while ago - I thought the poem fitted in well with the theme of aber and also mine and Laura's experiences there... peace and love. Rod.
Lost in Borth
The sky perched upon the rocks
Like a bee does a flower top

The sun shone down summer kisses
And the moon was drowned in this Ulysses
We held on as the world past us by
Like we were on a soft carousel ride
The stones felt so thick beneath our feet
If we can’t get home soon then maybe we should sleep
Somewhere here in the west
Two lost kids discovered a treasure chest
What’s lost is lost and what’s gone is gone
But the feelings inside will last forever long.
