"Mentro Lluest's annual Open Day on 12 May 2007 between 10.30am and 4pm provided an opportunity for people to come and see, first hand, the work that we do.

There were organic vegetables and nursery products for sale, along with the chance to meet staff and students and have guided tours of our site.

If you are physically or socially disadvantaged we can offer you a free accredited course in horticulture based at our 3 acre organic site on the outskirts of Aberystwyth, Mid Wales.

We currently offer 4 levels of courses, from NPTC level 1 to NVQ level 2, our aim is to develop land-based skills alongside life-skills and improve your chances of gaining employment or further training. During the course our experienced staff will provide a high level of educational support and work with you to create a personal development plan alongside your horticultural studies.

Mentro Lluest sign Mentro Lluest also has an active Volunteering programme covering practical gardening, conservation and land-based skills, there is also the opportunity to develop research projects on site. Spring and summer months are always very busy at Mentro Lluest with a wide variety of work available. Please contact us if you would like to donate some of your time to helping the project.

We have a small shop on site through which we sell the surplus organic veg produced by our students. We also operate an Organic Veg Box Scheme throughout the growing season which has proved very popular with the local community.

The nursery section of our site produces a stunning display of bedding plants, hanging baskets perennials, shrubs, succulents and carnivorous plants. Why not come and have a look? "
