"The 2009 Castell Rock Festival has been nominated in three categories for Best Family Festival Award. Best Grass Roots Festival Awartd and Best Small Festival in the 2009 UK Festival Awards. Now in its seventh year the festival is a community based event run by volunteers to provide free music to the area, especially young people, who may not be able to afford a ticket to one of the larger festivals this summer.

Every year the festival collected money and accepted donations towards a chosen charity, this year we joined forces with the Apêl Aber 3 Appeal in their efforts to raise £10,000 for the Charity DEBRA to help a young Penweddig pupil who is suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Castell Rock is supported by Aberystwyth Town Council, Ceredigion County Coucil and Communities First and this year we have received further support from the Ceredigion Rural Events Programme (supported by the Welsh Assembly Government & The European Union).
