Dad's War Diary

Liam Brown's father's War Diary

Last updated: 17 August 2006

Does anyone remember Canadian servicemen being stationed at Aberystwyth in 1945? Liam Brown has sent in this query about his father.

Liam Brown from Canada thinks his father might have been stationed at Aberystwyth:

"My family recently found my fathers diary from World War 2. He died in 1967 when I was 2 years old. It looks as if he was stationed in Aberystwyth in 1945. He was in the Canadian army at 17 years old. The front of the says:
D.RU.Thompson
Prince Albert Hotel
Aberystwyth

He did not write much in the diary except his name:W.D Brown-i.c.b.w-r.c.e.m.e. England. On the last page of engagements he wrote Jim MacDonald. If you could tell us anything it would be greatly appreciated."
