Alan Ginsberg was born in Penparcau in Aberystwyth. He trained as an artist in Carmarthen College and Newport School of Art and then moved to London to work as an art teacher. He first heard the Uillean pipes in 1969 and was hooked on their sound and the craftsmanship behind it.
