My grandfather, John Owen, was born in Penwyllt in 1904. I think there are Morgan's on the maternal side. Does anyone remember the families?

I was born in Abercrave and lived there until I moved to Canada in 1973. Lived there again in the eighties. When there my children went to the Primary School and have great memories of being there. Love to the Giant.

For Jan Pratt West Wales.I was born in Penwyllt and lived there for 10 years before moving to Coelbren. I knew your uncle Harry Wagg and his wife Rachel who lived at No 1 Pattis Cottages. Many fond memories of a once thriving and happy village.

I grew up in Glyntawe. Abercraf was one of the places to be on a Saturday night. Interested to see mentions of Penwyllt history. Does anybody know the history of the Brickworks, its rail lines and quarries?

I grew up in Abercrave and my mum still lives there. I have lived in Canada for 30 years but I still call Abercrave home. It was an amazing place to grow up, beautiful, safe and carefully watched over by the giant himself!!!.

I now live in Abercraf, dead opposite the chapel next to Margaret, I moved there 3 years ago and love it. For my sins I am a Swansea Jack, or more precice a Morriston Monkey(proud too) but I am doing my best to settle in and be accepted....so far so good! I am after a picture...for a small fee, of 'the sleeping giant'. Can you help? would you know of the artist of the paintings in the Inn?

I've lived here 3 years and it feels like home. Penwyllt is mentioned a few times here. Brick row is long gone, but Powell Street, including the Mission Hall at Number 9, is thriving as the HQ of the South Wales Caving Club. The Penwyllt Inn, usually known as The Stump, still stands but it is currently empty.

I used to go to this church hall as a youngster. This was the place to go for Sunday school where we used to sit in a circle with the teacher for i think an hour or so she told us stories from the bible and asked questions to see if we were paying attention.

My grandfather worked in the colliery at Abercraf, along with his father, until he was killed in an accident in 1934. Does anyone have a photo of the colliery that I can add to my family history records please?

I used to visit my Great Aunt Dolly in Abercraf, she had moved there from Penwyllt, where my dad Dennis Morgan was born in 1930. Penwyllt is a place close to our family's heart as my Grandfather Tom Morgan was the preacher at the Mission hall there and our family lived at 3 Brick Row Penwyllt! Many happy memories for my father here.
