Are you thinking of learning Welsh and ready to take your first steps - or are you already learning but would like to brush up your skills? The Big Welsh Challenge is holding a special St David's Day event in Dolgellau with lessons and entertainment for learners of all levels.
The Welsh Learners' Day is free of charge and is part of the BBC's Here for You campaign. Visitors will be split into seven classes in the morning, each taken by an experienced tutor and tailored to suit their ability. After lunch there will be workshop sessions with celebrities including author Bethan Gwanas, actress Gillian Elisa and BBC Radio Cymru presenter Rebecca Jones.
This is the latest in a series of similar events around Wales organised by The Big Welsh Challenge in conjunction with the local Welsh for Adults Centres. In October last year learners in Maesteg were able to draw some inspiration from the Welsh learner of the year Julie MacMillan, who was one of the guest speakers, along with Big Welsh Challenge presenter Dewi Pws and Pobol y Cwm actress Lisa Victoria.
Dean Hamilton from Bridgend joined the entry level group. "I absolutely loved the day. I persuaded a friend to come who said he'd learnt more in that one day than in three weeks of lessons," he said.
The Big Welsh Challenge Welsh Learners' Day will take place at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Ffordd Ty'n y Coed, Dolgellau on Saturday 1st March from 9.30am - 3.30pm. To register or for more information, email email@example.com.
