Night Life - Trivia

1. Are you recording this?
One of many theories around what makes a ghost says that they are scientifically explicable. The Psychic Recordings theory holds that certain events (especially violent ones) can quite literally be recorded onto the walls of a building; and that, in certain natural atmospheric conditions these recordings replay themselves – much to the alarm of anyone who happens to be present when this occurs!

2. I want to go on a ghost watch
You could join the Ghost Club of Great Britain, which has a high reputation among believers and sceptics alike. (See Links for details).

3. The most haunted house in the World?
Before it was destroyed in a mysterious fire in 1939, Borley Rectory in Essex was reputed to be the most haunted house in the world. (See Links for details).

4. The most haunted house in Wales?
Llancaich Fawr Manor, the living history museum where the ‘Nightlife’ piece was filmed, claims to be the most haunted house in Wales, with as many as seven separate ghosts.

5. TV first!
The ‘Hounds Productions’ team who made ‘Punch The Clock’ were the first ever TV crew to spend a whole evening at Llancaich Fawr. Despite a few odd bumps and bangs, the only thing they actually saw was a mouse! See the video streams on this site for exclusive footage of Paul Dorset’s ghost-hunting techniques.

6. Spectral law
In Connecticut, USa, it is a legal requirement for all home sellers to notify any prospective buyers if their house is haunted!

7. Spectral science
These days, all reputable ghost hunters and clubs use scientific methods to approach a ghost watch. This includes the deployment of still cameras, video cameras, and all manner of fancy technology. See Links for details.

8. Spectral haunts
According to the UK Ghost Hunting Society (see Links for details), the top six obvious places to look for ghosts are: cemeteries, schools, battlefields, churches, hotels, and historic buildings.

9. Spectres on celluloid
There are numerous examples of ‘ghosts’ appearing in photographs and films. Perhaps the most famous is the ‘ghost boy’ who mysteriously appears in the background of a scene in the box-office smash ‘Three Men and a Baby’. For the real story behind this and other spooks on film, see Links for details.

10. Phantom poll
In a recent MaRI poll, 76% of ghosts who were questioned admitted that they believed in the existence of extra-terrestrial UFOs.
