Body artist - Must Have
Ed’s tools of the trade
1. Knowledge
For Ed, a solid knowledge of the human anatomy is an absolute must before you even think about piercing professionally. There is plenty of literature about basic anatomy available online and at your local library; Ed also recommends that you consult with medical professionals as well. At the very least, you should take a First Aid course.
2. Hygiene
at the most basic level you will need all the equipment to undertake a three-part sterilization of your equipment, ie: cold storage, a sonic cleaner, an autoclave or chemical autoclave. (See So You Wanna Be a Body artist?)
3. Enthusiasm
For Ed, it’s not just a business, it’s a way of life. He lives, breathes, and eats Body art. His love for what he does means he really cares how his profession is perceived and practised.
