Why is there a dragon on the Welsh Flag? When did it happen?

Leafing through ancient historical documents and logging on to legends, we find out just how old the star of the show - the centrepiece of the Welsh flag, the Red Dragon - really is. And how and when it came to symbolise not just great heroes of yesteryear, but the Welsh nation itself.
