Escape from Island Farm

Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are, first broadcast 13 September 1977

In 1945, Britain's only major German prisoner escape took place at Island Farm, a PoW camp near Bridgend. Eighty-four prisoners tunnelled 60ft out of the camp in March 1945. This clip takes some of the escapees back to their temporary prison and provides an insight into this remarkable story.
