Let's Look at Wales: Crossing the Menai

Narrated by David Parry Jones, this school's programme looks at the Britannia Bridge fire on the Menai Straights between mainland Wales and Anglesey.

Beginning with a dramatised 999 response, it offers an interesting view of the events on the evening of May 23 1970, when some children accidentally started a fire that destroyed the 120 year-old bridge that was built by Robert Stephenson.

This clip is a dramatisation of the 999 response to the fire, as well as featuring actual archive.
