School Level: 11-14,14-16
Sub-Topic: Tryweryn
Duration: 1:00

Content Description
Under water footage of a village in mid Wales; probably Llanwddyn under Lake Vyrnwy; reminds us of the drowning of Capel Celyn, flooded by Liverpool Council in 1965 to build a reservoir (despite huge protests in Wales) .

Points to note:
What has happened here? Why was this village drowned? What type of place was Capel Celyn? Why do we remember the story of Tryweryn? Look at other drowned villages in Wales

From The Celts The Final Conflict first broadcast 11/06/87
