Rachel age 11
My favourites out of coal house has to be Rhodri because he's so cute and Cerdin because he was caught sleeping while working.
Emma from Cardiff
Absolutely SUPERB!! I loved every moment of each show - fabulous! A real insight into the trials of life in 1927. I was so pleased when recently there were 3 hour long programmes focussing on each family. Television at it's best. Well done BBC. I can hardly wait for the WW2 series :)
Rob from Birmingham
This is a fantastic series and also makes our kids appreciate hardship. I think you really ought to also consider taking them through the great war too (after your next series that's the 1940's WW2) I recently visited my great uncles grave in Malta (We were lucky to have a grave to visit) from the South Wales Borderers in 1915.Them times must of been even more really hard to survive.Great programme - I'm going to try and talk my family into applying.
Decima White Northamptonshire
Saw the begining when staying in Abergavenny with my dad. Thought it was absolutely brilliant and was glued to every episode on bbc wales when I got back home. Can't wait for the next series. So mant things reminded me of the house I lived in as a child. A big thank you to bbc wales and all those who took part.
Dave
Coal house is awesome. It is really interesting and I am only 14. I love the clip where Cerdin got locked in the chicken house. Hope Coal House in the war is just as good.
Chris King Aberdare
Marvellous series! Can you broadcast this nationally? ( All over the UK ) I'm 68 now and was brought up in a street the same age as Stack square full of lovely people like the 3 families involved. The teacher Mr Michaels was very much like the teachers I knew and loved when I was a little boy and the methods used then really worked.
Jessica
I'm looking forward to the second series. When the first series was broadcasted I was studying coal mines and how families lived in History in school and by the time the second series will be out I will be studying WW2. It's a brilliant time to have the programme on my TV.
Sharon Neath
Brilliant Series!!! Loved talking to my parents, who are in their seventies, about their memories of what life used to be like.I think we could all learn a massive lesson from Coalhouse and remember just how lucky we are now.2nd series please x
Silly Bins
I think Rhodri was cool. I like piggies is a classic and i think it will be remembered for years.
Sarah from Canada
I just received the DVD via Cowbridge - thanks Mum. The show was amazing. Stef you were great, what a charater Rhodri is but Jade was the best helping out. Well done to all. PS send it to BBC Canada - they will love it.
Arthur Day-Swansea
We are waiting to buy the tapes, to show our children, who live up in England. I grew up in the Garw, Croesyceliog, where our house was just like those at Stack Square. The nearest colliery was in Upper Cwmbran, called "The Addit". My uncle was a collier there.
Katrina Llanelly Hill
My son is 8 yrs old. He was fascinated with the series. He has struck up a wonderful relationship with the Griffiths family. Debra is so down to earth nothing is too much bother for her. My son thinks she is great. We are so grateful for all she has done. Fantastic show. Another show would not be okay because there is only one Griffiths family, one Rhodri, one Cartwright family. Please leave it now as it is. Well done everyone.
emily @8
I THINK EVERY ONE WAS LOVELY
Sue Evans in Dubai (from Aberdare originally)

What a fantastic breakthrough for T.V. VIEWING.Realistic in every way. All of the three families were outstanding, there was no stupid 'Get me out of here' but for me they were all more than just celebrities. Would love totake part. A truly 10 star programme. A lot more please.

Pat Davies Cwmbran,
What an excellant program true to life, brings back memories of tin bath and toilet down the garden. All the families done great to survive 1927. The children all done well but my favourite was Rhodri especially when he gave the neighbour the egg he found and when he was filling the coal scuttle up and then carried it to his home. Well done the BBC please make some more historic programmes,
Ruth Pontypool
A Brilliant show unmissable entertainment I thought all the famalies did so well. I know I couldn't do half the things they did. Absolutely excellent viewing. Well done everyone.

I like the bit where Rhodri was jumping on the bed and with a spoon singing and when he said i dont like piggies. Thank you very much little Rhodri you are the star. I hope you look at this. I also liked the bit when he came knocking on the door giving them an egg. I wish u would be my brother

VICKY MARTINSEN
Rhodri was the star of the show and his family was great - always got a bit worried about having no milk or bread. The Griffiths were teh funniest family of the show I life the bit when Cerdin ran in to the toilety with his bottom showing.

the girls singing round the piano was marvellous, a few people would love to hear that again, maybe it could be on a video clip.
Jess
I am really sad now the show is over I have got to say Rhodri is such a little cuttie. I also think Kitty Gwen and Annharad did really well with the exams. Also Jade did well helping around the house. They were all great!!!
Steve, Tredegar
Best show on the box. Everyone a star, Well done Rhodri (laugh a minute). Most enjoyable family, has got to be the Griffiths, typical welsh humour.BBC Wales! Very well done a fantastic production, let's have another series.
Christine Evans from Blaenavon
Good viewing all the families tried their best, but people never used to keep pigs at stack square I know this because my great grandmother used to live in the corner house.
Michael Cudmore Cwmbran
Hi. Enjoyed the whole series. I was in the audience for the Blaenavon Concert and was disapointed that only a few seconds were shown of an exellent concert. Wil there be a DVD out for christmas with extended scenes and extras ?
Mike, Penny & Becky
We've enjoyed the series but far flung friends and family couldn't view so we're hoping a DVD will be released so we can give them all a copy - would make excellent Christmas presents! Thanks to all involved in making the series, for opening closed eyes - and please make a repeat nationwide for ALL to enjoy.

Kevin Skulley Pontypool
My mother is 88 years old and refused to watch the programme because she says she lived through it and doesn't need to watch it again on TV!I am only 44 but I can remember bathing in front of the fire in an old tin bath.I found the programme very interesting to watch and really enjoyed it. The best bit was watching little Rhodri, he was a real character.
Mike Jayne Varteg
A great programme! Most of my family were miners, it brings back so many memories of when I was young.
Mel, Llandeilo
I think the whole programme has been fab and they are all stars. Especially the singing of Amazing Grace, beautiful :-)

Amy Richards, Caerphilly
Brilliant, absolutly Brilliant, The Best EVER reality TV show to ever air! Rhodri is soooo cute. Me and my boyfriend cant stop copyin Debra after Cerdin spent "Two shillings!!" in the pub that one night. Its been a real eye opener as we take so much for granted these days, and i myself understand how my Grandad, a young boy, working down the pits, felt having to do a day hard graft at the age of 13.The show was a pleasure to watch, and a wonderful tribute to welsh miners. Well Done BBC
Y Jones, Llanelli
A fantastic reality show. How wonderful all the families were to adapt so easily and competently to the 1927 way of life. I miss it already. It is a pity that the sharing and friendliness from neighbours isn't adapted in today's communities. Another series would be wonderful, but much much longer next time. Rhodri, what a star, and congratulations to all involved in the making of a truly wonderful real life history show.
joe shutt from blackwood

rhodri, the star of the show. all week, my mum and sister have been saying"i don't like piggies", and then coo over him.very realistic. my grandad used to tell stories of similiar situations and the entire series is faultless. shame it's finished, though!
carron merthyr tydfil
Just a brilliant programme. What an abundance of charactors. I thought the children were wonderful, always entertaining, especially Rhodri!. It makes you think how lucky we are today and how much we take for granted. Pity we don't have community spirit like this anymore Please let there be a second series
shelly from swansea
This has been a brillian show. An excellent opportunity to show the world how Welsh sense of humour, helps us through good times and bad. It would be a really good idea to do a follow up programme showing how easy/difficult the familes found settling back into 2007.
caroline chapman,carmarthen
I loved the whole programme, couldn't get enough.Rhodri was gorgeous such a character.i laughed and cried every time he was on.well done to all the families,it couldn't have been easy.

I only saw the last one of this series. I can't believe it wasn't advertised more widely! It was BRILLIANT. It puts other programmes to shame i.e.Big Brother of which I wouldn't even tune into. Will The Coalhouse be repeated or can it be bought on DVD?
taylor age 10
i loved watching coal house can't wait for the dvd to come out i loved rhodri he was sooooo cute but all of them were stars.all the families were great bet the families couldu'nt wait to get home and run a nice hot bath instead of sharing one between them.thanks bbc wales.

Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic well done to all the families who took part you were brilliant, best show on T.V.for years. Well done B.B.C Wales
Audrey from Port Talbot
Fantastic programme didn't miss one episode normally watched repeats as well. Maybe the BBC could make it into a film so they could add some of the unseen footage. This is the type of programme that people don't mind paying their TV Licence to watch there can be so much rubbish on of late. Best reality programme by far. Can we have more more more please.
lauren ely

Felicia
This show was great, and Rhodri was definatly a star. He was so cute. Thank you, BBC, for producing such a good program, and I hope you do more things like this. Mind you, there's a clip that I think was really funny, but it's not on here. When Rhodri whacks that pig with a stick. It must have hurt, but it cracked me up.
Alice Davies from Cynwyd
I loved this programe and i would love to have a go it would be an experience of a life time.My favorite person on the coal house has got to be Rhodri, he is so funny and so adoreble!! olive from Hertfordshire
Thank goodness we have satellite tv or we would have missed a most fantastic series. Rest of UK don't know what they have missed. Have Welsh family in the Valleys so often watch BBC Wales.
Cariba and Phoebe
The Griffiths family is so funny. Rhodri is the most funniest toddler on T.V! And when he said I don't like piggies, we couldn't stop laughing. Love you, Rhodri!
kevin aged 8
i think the programme was very good and the star of the show was the little 2yr old boy
Anne Jones Wrexham
Great insight into the hardships of "the olden days" that children always ask about. Some think deprivation is not having an ipod! The way the families looked after each other shows us what we have lost in our "progressive" society. Thank goodness people's lives have changed but it's "love and kindness" that make the difference in our lives
Matthew age 10
Best show that B.B.C wales has put on the screens in my life! I love little Rhodri with his air guitar and "i dont like piggies" ,and all the Rhodri clips. Cerdin is funny when he has been to the pub and when joe wanted to go down the mine! HaHa. Thankyou to all the families. They were brill. You realy lighted up my Monday, wednesday & friday night. Butcher was brill as well:). Hope there will be another lot of families. Ritche was a good choice for promotion!
libby from porthcawl

Abertysswg
I love Coal House. I love all of it and I would love to live for 3 weeks myself. I loved the bit where they locked the dad in the chicken shed. I laughed my head off. I wish it will come back on.
jonathan davies aberdare

We think Coal house was brill! Rhodri was the star of the show. The Griffiths family were so funny they were great. The part we liked the best was when they put Mr Blandford on the Bonfire as a guy! Would like to see another programme like this again.
Coco from Bridgend
I love Rhodri! He's so cute and funny! He was a delight to watch on Coal House and will be a star one day!!! Steph, you deserve a pat on the back for coping!

Coal House rules! my fave bit is I DONT LIKE PIGGIES and Mrs Griffiths being playful
Deanne, age 10.
I loved watching Coal House. It was excellent. i loved Rhodri. I thought he stole the show. the best bit was when Rhodri was dancing with a pretend guitar. Please bring this sort of programme back with Rhodri the star of the show. Thank you bbc and all the families. You were all great x
Megan Thomas Monmouth
I thought that the program is brilliant, and I thought Rhodri was really cute with his air guitar. They are all SUPER STARS!

Scott from Cwmbran
A great show produced. The families were incredibly well chosen and had a mixture of everyone in and out of the Coal House. Rhodri, obviously star of the show but also Jade, she worked extremely hard and helped the family tremendously.
Sally from Cardiff
A fab programme. I admire the families for taking part. Rhodri was definitely the star.
Sarah from Port Talbot
Mr Michael is a legend <3 I was probably one of the last classes he taught before he retired from teaching at Sandfields Comprehensive. You were great sir!
marilyn
A credit to all concerned. This shows what reality shows should be like. BBC please, please listen to these comments.
Siobhan from Cardiff
I love Rhodri he's so adorable and I love the scene where he carried the chicken - such a cutey!
David Walters from Stoke (But Welsh)
What a great show, the best three weeks on T.V. Sadly all is coming to a end tonight (Friday), looking forward to the repeats on BBC again. Would love to see the three families coming together again, reunion soon, maybe taking about the show. And what of the out takes?Great show
Cath, Port Talbot
This had to be one of the best programmes I've watched in a long time. It's a shame it had to end but I don't think the families would be happy if they had to stay there.Well done to all concerned!!A big hug for Rhodri who still has me in stitches when i think of his 'I don't like piggies' speech.
cathryn
i love the programme its brilliant i love Rhodri he's so cute and funny xx
Ivy Cardiff
All the families are stars, you can't really single anyone out as better than the others. The three families are different, and have all added their own personalities to the show. What an amzing cook Mrs. Cartwright turn out to be, given the poor rations. I felt so sorry for them,as poor old Joe couldn't earn the same money , because he hurt his finger, anyway, WELL DONE to all of them. The'reALL stars.
shannon mapps
please dont kill the piggies rodi wont like it
Joan Porthcawl
What a brilliant series BBC - deserves to win numerous awards - puts programmes like Big Brother to shame. Congratulations to all who took part - everyone is a star. Particular praise should be given to the Cartwright family who adapted so well to a completely different culture and way of life.
joan bridgend
on love everything about coalhouse wish it was on longer they are all stars love the griffithes sense of humour
John and Myra, Mountain Ash
What a poignant and humorous series, we have really enjoyed watching it and together with the commentary very educational. Although not "real" it has given an excellent insight into what life was like then. Extremely hard!! Well done BBC Wales and all the families who took part, especially all the children along with funny little Rhodri and his air guitar. We have laughed and laughed at Debra and Cerdin - we will miss the programme.
Maria SWANSEA
Loving the programme but not as impressed with the Griffiths as everyone seems to be. Debra's behaviour over the bath was appalling. Joe was a gentleman and had nothing to apologise for. Debra also made sure the Phillips had their rent raised when hers was-mean! Annabel is impressive on such little income.
Sarah James, Llanelli
Can we have more of the way of life of miners and their families please? Fantastic programme - hope it gives this generation an idea of how simple life can be!Well done BBC!!!
Helen, Pontypridd
Fantastic program! I adore Rhodri and think we should see more of him on TV - he's a born entertainer! Well Done BBC
Dave Richards Gilwern
Thank you BBC Wales for making a brilliant programe, and a big thank you to all the families.the mine owner, the butcher and grocer for making it such a success.

Fantastic programme, but like everyone else whish it was on longer!. All three families are great to watch. The children are ace the way they have adapted to 1927 life without any real complaint. Excellent BBC..!!!!
mandy caerphilly
Well done BBC. the best programme I've watched in ages.Rhodri is definitely the star.Debra should become the 1st minister after she sorted Joe out and if it didn't work out we could all have a good laugh afterwards.congratulations to all the families especially Steph Phillips who must have had the hardest job.
Mary from Maesteg
Great viewing, Love Rhodri, but all of them are stars.
Reynolds Family from Merthyr Tydfil
Coalhouse series wonderful! Brings back memories of a happy childhood in the late forties early fifties, I was brought up in a similar manner, you know Toilet at the top of the garden, cold water tap behind the door, tin bath, cooking done on an open-fire grate with a oven each side of it, no television we made our own entertainment and I was always getting dirty, just like Rhodri! It was a happy time! Thank you BBC and the families, your all absolutely brilliant
Dorinda McCann Conwy
What a great series - I shall be so sorry to see it end. All the families taking part are excellent. Just love Rhodri and little Gwennan, the Phillips' have a lot of dignity and togetherness. The show is very entertaining and I'd like to see this on all the year round Beats the pants off Big Brother. Well done BBC Wales
Richie down under (pontyboy)
I think the sketches i have seen on the computer are great. when i took my son home - i still call wales home after 15 yrs away - I took him to Blaenafon and lewis merthyr pits. he loved it. I wish it was on down under. Rhodri is fab. well done to all. Ps let me know how to obtain a copy for my son to watch
Baydn Hughes
Rhodri's guitar playing is the funniest clip of all. Mrs Griffiths' family were ill at the beginning but she kept her sense of humour all the way through it, well done Deborah! Don't want the show to end, can we have another series next year, every night would be nice!
brian llanelli
brilliant programme i am only 56 but can relate with the kids when i was young a stick could become a sword a rifle afishing rod cost nothing and kept us ammused for days now its all about mobile phones ipods and expensive electronic toys wich kids demand and parents can ill afford
CHRISTINE swansea
Fantastic, this must continue, great for young and older people, griffiths family very funny stars in the making, and what a gorgeous family the phillps are, kind, sweet a credit to the community, cant wait to visit the houses, please let this continue, different eras would be great, and maybe holiday weekends at the houses, please
Terry, Jayne and Laura Milford Haven
We have not stopped laughing about Rhodrie carrying Osprey out of the Chicken shed. more of the series Please. This is worth the TV Licence on its own.
Rob from Swansea
Rhodri is class!
Sue from Cardiff
I agree! Rhodri is a star! The Griffiths seem funny but on a longer run I think they'd show their true colours. Making fun of Joe's finger, and Debra trying to get first bath for Cedwin was not a pretty sight! Annabel has behaved like a lady offering help to others when they had hardly anything for themselves - unlike Debra who told the rent man about Annabels lodger after she had to pay extra for the schoolteacher! It is still gripping t.v!
Marlene from Germany
I am full of admiration for all three families. It has been a super series , informative and educational. It makes one realise how hard life was in those days and how people pulled together. Each family has contributed in their own way and helped make a wonderful programme.
Kaye, Caerphilly
Fantastic telly BBC. My husband and I are glued!! have really warmed to all of the families and what fabulous children they all have. I must agree with the other comments about Rhodri, he is such a lovely little boy - so bright and absolutely delightful. The programme really brings home to us the struggle our great grandparents and grandparents had. Thank you for such an entertaining programme.
Betty St.Clears
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the children chasing the 'piggies' and Rhodri riding on the back of one of them. They all look very healthy and happy. I'll definitely get the DVD of the series. More BBC
Roberts familly Bangor N Wales
We love coal house it's brillThe Griffiths family are so funny , Rhodri is the star of the show, ritchy is the sexy one ;0).Fantastic tv
Corinne
Oh the first argument all about who was to bath first! A shame to see the families fall out but true to the very warm natures of these families a kiss and a cuddle to make up. Brill.
Jason,Ebbw vale

I'm loving watching the series. Rhodri is hysterical, the clip of him bumping into the camera had me in stitches. Can't wait to see Jade, miss her loads. hope all the families have had an amazing experience.
The Jones` Blackwood
Please BBC make another series, by far the best programme in a long time! A very good history lesson, makes us realise how luky we are.
Rachel from Rhondda
My husband and I are massive fans! We haven't missed an episode. The show gives me an insite to how my great-grandparents lived. We love all the families, good on them for doing so well!
sally, cardiff
Ive got a 4 year old and a female Rhodri at home and I can tell you, we wouldnt have lasted half a day. What a credit those 6 children are to the parents. Just goes to show you can bring up happy, healthy, loving and witty children without a tv or pc. If only some aspects of 2007 were the same as '27.
Soph and Luce
LOVE YOU JADE (Harro-Borat voice)! Come home please now, but make sure you have a bath before you see us. In all seriousness, missing you loads. Can't wait to see you again!

Congratulations to the BBC for putting on such a great programme. Will miss it when it ends! Credit must be given to all the families for giving us such great entertainment during the past few weeks. I think they have been wonderful. Well done.
Kelly Williams from Merthyr
What a wonderful programme! Have worked in the stack square houses many times and one day seems to be quite enough for me - they really are very small houses! Well done to all the families - you're all stars! I LOVE Rhodri - such a cutie - 'I...don't...like...Piggies!' An absolute star! What a wonderful group of people - I wish the series was longer. I hope you do a follow up on the families and see how they live in 2007!
HJ-o Cwm Gwendraeth
Bor in 1923 in a two roomed zinc roofed cottage I can relate to a great deal of the series. But the "Ty bach" I knew was a zinc bucket that had to be emptied in a hole dug in the garden every week at least. The Coal House family are spared this chore!
The Jones Family from Cilfynydd
We love the Griffith family. They're so funny and we laugh along with them. We love Rhodri too! He is so cute and we love the "Auntie Debra" video.
Catherine from Swansea
Wow, I love it. Rhodri has had me giggling away so many times. I dread to think how cold it must be in those houses. I would like to have seen more of Jade's experiences, as a young woman taking on a motherly role, especially after seeing the video above.
Angela from Wrexham
We all love Rhodri in our house, the guitar playing was so funny,my son played it back about 7 times.Great series.

Pauline from Coytrahen
What about Jade? We haven't seen much of her and from the video clips she's finding it tough!! Tell her she's champion helping her mum out like that!! Fantastic series!
paula evans from maesteg
Us welsh know how to do reality programmes at their best. Eat your heart out big brother and im a celebrity jungle - rubbish. BBC please give us more of cerdin and debra. everyone deserves an award for this programme its priceless
Zoe, 11yrs
I think Rhodri is so cute!!! The coal house is the best program on t.v at the moment. I would love to go on the show because the children look like they're enjoying themselves. It should be on every night.
Beth Machado from Pontypool.
Rhodri is the best person in Coal House! He is such a character! "I don't like piggies" and "bababa" of the guitar were brilliant! I also thought the video of him in the chair saying what he didn't like was funny. Please film more of Rhodri's cute and funny moments. Thanks! xxx.
darren from merthyr
this is a comment to ray from merthyr. we all know people lived like this and i think the bbc have done a fine job in showing what people had to cope with.when my kids say that they are bored and that there is nothing to do it drives me doo-lally they have computer games t.v p.c. hi-fi all in the room it drives me crackers i wish my children had a few days of this treatment just too show them what you can do and what you will find to do when our children are bored.good on you bbc hope we have more of the same soon

What a brilliant programme. Thoroughly enjoying it, Rhodri what a star. Take my hat off to the Griffiths family for taking part especailly with 6 children. Also admiration to all the children who have never known such poverty and going without all the modern technology they have grown up with, ie. ps2, i.pods, computer, mobile phone, etc. Thoroughly admire everyone that entered. Good on you all.

I love watching Coalhouse it brings back such memories. I was born in a one up two down cottage. I bathed in front of the fire in a tin bath and we had the most wonderful food cooked on the fire and roasted in the oven. I think that the families are standing up to living in 1927 very well.
Anna Makepeace from Clunderwen
Absolutely brilliant series! Makes us appreciate our lives and the luxuries we have each day. How lucky are we? We love the Griffiths family! Total stars!!!! What will we watch after it ends?

Margaret from Barry
Bendigedig! Well done BBC Wales. They are such engaging families and so brave - how they managed to skin a rabbit I don't know. I am only 49 but I think my life was closer to that sort of life than my childrens' - it makes me feel grateful for the freedom I had to roam, the community spirit of a small mining village and the appreciation of small things.
jenny from wrexham
just brilliant all the families are remarkable.hope you will show it nationwide its powerfull accurate and educational. deserves an award.

First started watching while on holiday in Trecco Bay. Great programme. My gramp worked down the mines in the 1930s He walked to oxford when there was no work in the mines since then we have stayed here. Its great to see a series about what his job used to be. We visited the big pit last month and it was really educational. We have enjoyed watching the rest of the series on sky. Good job we had it or we would have missed the rest of the series. well done bbc wales!!

Highlights the hardship that families endured in 1927. It shows how children could enjoy themselves without the expensive toys of today. Very good history lesson for us all.Thought that the men should be carrying the rationed block home from work for the fire!

Excellent show, pity it's not on more often. Rhodri is sooo cute and the Griffiths' sense of humour is fantastic. Well done to all the families.
Gwyn Griffiths Neath
All my family look forward in watching each Coalhouse programme unfold, as we see the Griffiths, Phillips and Cartwright families bond getting closer, so this ground breaking reality series seem to unite our family tele viewing as never before, we are gripped by the highs and low of tough life in 1927.But we laugh at the antics of Rhodri and humour of the families and admire the hardships that they endured, and count our many blessings .This is a classic gem of a production, congratulations BBC WALES!

This is the best tv I have watched in years. The families have taken it all on so well. I'm impressed to see kids enjoying the life and living without technology and not moaning. Gill McCarthy from Abersychan
What a fantastic show. I am learning so much from the experience. The little boy not liking the 'piggies' was the funniest bit so far but the Griffiths family are so entertaining and have embraced the experience. Hope all the families have enough milk and food for the children though as it is not fair to neglect them for the sake of television.
Christine from Blaenavon
This series makes us realise how easy we have it today and how much we take for granted. Its brilliant seeing those little houses lived in again. Thanks for a wonderful look back into the past.
Mandi, Cardiff
I love Mr and Mrs Griffiths, they're fun to watch and really seem to be enjoying the experience. Best bit: Mrs G shouting at the pigs for eating her bloomers!
patricia read from barry
I loved the song which the children sang in welsh for the 40th birthday party, I would love the hear it again!
Gavin Williams from Caldicot
Glad to see that Mr Whitcombe teaches those guys to sing in the same way he does us in school! One, two LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LAAA

We love the show and would like it on more often.
Sarah from Staffordshire
Have been watching on iPlayer after watching the beginning of the show whilst on holiday in Wales. I think it's really great and would have loved to have been there with them.
Judy from Weshpool
I absolutely LOVE this series... I can't wait till I see next episode.. it's not usual THAT happens these days with so much utter rubbish on telly. This is Quality Television..real life as people lived not too long ago.. I like the way the families have thrown themselves into it and seem to be experiencing the joys and sorrows thatlife in Stack Square throws up.

Really cool show!!! Love to have the awesome experience myself! The best parts are the hysterical woman and the hillarious boy!!!!
beth smith merthyr tydfil

Brilliant show, very enjoyable but needs to be on more often!
Joshua-Lee Tantrum of Newbridge
I visited the coalhouse today and saw Rhodri. I would like to go back in time but I would not like to have the cane across my backside when I am naughty. I would like to work in the mine because I like coal and would like to have a coal fire instead of gas.
lottie from Cardiff age 8
I think that the show is fantastic in every way that is possible and I think that Rhodri is so cute.
Poppy from Cardiff 10
I think its a great show and Rhodri is so cute about the whole piggy business. I would love to do the experience.xx

Absolutely brilliant. It's humour, authenticity and human resourcefulness makes the programme not only educational but enjoyable as well. Each of the families adds to the enjoyment in their own way but the Griffiths'make us laugh.
big_mutha from Cardiff
oh my god rhodri is such a cute kiddie he has to be the star of the show by far they need 2 have more of his funniest bits.Think the show is great gotta be the best reality show for ages cause its real life nothing fancy for them.
kevin,caerphilly
The bbc have got the families spot on,they each have their strenghts and weaknesses.Very enjoyable Tv At Last!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melissa Pontypool
My nan was 11 in 1927 and she was one of 10 girls and 5 boys all living with their mam and dad in a small house in Pontnewynydd. Conditions were much the same as in "The Coal House". We are getting a wonderful insight into what life was like back then. Captivating TV!
Rhysian o Pontardawe

Eleanore Glynn from Whitchurch Cardiff

Claire Llanelli
I am really enjoying the programme, along with my 2 children. It does make stop and realise what a hard life they had, compared to today.I would have never had coped, i'm ashamed to say. My son can't get over the fact that they have no toilets, and have to use the chamber pots!!! For children watching, I think its a great history lesson. The star of the show is Debra, what a great sense of humour she has.
Merle from Cwmbran
wonderful programme- can't wait to watch each time it's on.Do hope BBC Wales will bring out a DVD for us to keep and hand on to our Grandchildren.
Derek of Waunlwyd, Ebbw Vale,
A first class program. Brings back many memories. Hard times but happy ones. Can BBC bring out more of this type from other areas of the country. Is it posible to have the series on DVD?
Yvonne from Teesside
I think it's great. It reminds me of all the stories my Grandma used to tell me about when she was little and my Great Grandad was a miner. I think Rhodri is soooo cute! He's lovely. And my mum lived in a two up two down with 6 other members of family so it makes all the stories real for me.
roz jones pontnewydd
Never laughed so much, I love little Rhodri he is a star, and just think the Griffith's are the funniest family yet. such great viewing won't want it to end.
gwent.dragon from Chepstow
Fantastic viewing - but was the commentator right when she said most of the mines in South Wales in 1927 were drift mines?
Sue from Denbigh
It`s brings back memories of when I was a child.I can remember my mother using a mangle and a tub with a dolly.
rachel cardiff
fantastic programme i love it..debra is great ,wonderful sense of humour.makes you realise how hard families had it back then.
Griffiths family originally from blaenavon
What a great programme and what a lovely bunch of people the children are the stars especially the little piggy boy ahhhhhh
Adele, Neil and Luke Mansell Pontypridd
All the family are thoroughly enjoying this wonderful programme. I have huge respect for all three families, makes wonderful television but I wouldn't have lasted five minutes there. Everything is so hard and dirty, but they all seem to be making the most of it and have some laughs. Rhodri and the piggies was classic. The Griffiths relationship is wonderful and many people probably envy their love and laughter. Love the program.
Sue fromTenby
Yes, I agree with everyone it is an excellent show, all the families are lovely and the children are particularly nice children ( and Rhodri is so cute!) It is very informative about life at that time, and it is certainly worthy of national viewing.
Lee from Blaenavon
what a show it really shows how hard it was in those days great credit to the familys who r taking part
Sarah Blaenavon
I also think little Rhodri is a star, for someone so young and not completely understanding what is happening he is doing great. As are all the others, it must be a great experience to learn what are forefathers did for US.
Simpkins family from Ammanford,Carms.
'I dont like piggies', what a start!! We were wetting ourselves laughing and has stayed with us since. This show is a brilliant reconstruction of the 1920's which as my grandad (aged 94) tells me was harder than they have it in the cottages!! No emergency NHS then.Very realistic and a learning experience for us all living in the modern world. Bring back some of the old ways, but only some! Round the piano singing was so moving, thanks BBC Wales!!! ONE of your best ever!
Elisa from Wrexham
I love this programme. All the families are so individual. I love them, espaecially the Phillipses for taking part with 6 children - you deserve medals and the Griffiths - for providing the humour. Well done all. Lets see more of this type of show BBC, please.
Emma from Aberdeenshire
Think the programme is brilliant, but should be nationwide so we can see it up here in Scotland! The Philipses are fab - we love them! We think the star is wee Rhodri amd could watch them all day! Tell them that we're rooting for them and wish all the families the best. Fabulous programme. Can't wait to see the tapes - or convince BBC Scotland to run it!!
G. Thomas. Carmarthen
This is a superb series and the families are all portraying the period so well ,as no professional actor could ever achieve because of their natural off the cuff hilarious comments. It brings back so many vivid memories. Rhodri and the all the children are super stars well done to everyone concerned , only wish the programmes were longer.
jim bloggs cardiff
I think that the Griffith's were a little harsh making fun of Joe's damaged his finger. I'm sure they wouldn't like the same treatment if something similar happened to them!
Margare from Barry
I think they are all very brave and it brings home how very hard life was in those days. My thoughts are with the families every day wondering how they are getting on.
maz llanelli
love the griffiths fmily wen debra got the names of the cartwright girls mixed up wen they lwft the pigs out i had 2 watch it time and time again brill series
Dan from Carmarthenshire
I think they are all funny, they all have there moments, especially the bloke who got his wage and went back, then the boss told him that he wasnt getting anymore and explained the situation and he just said "fair enough then" it was mega lols
Sue Henson,Wrexham
This is an excellent eye opener, tho hard work all day long, it can make you realize life is to easy today. The families are doing their best, and i would love to have a working holiday doing the same thing...Well done families.
Jodie Phillips from Blaenavon
This is the best series ever, Cerdin is the star of the show he is so funny. I didnt think much of the ladies bloomers they are horrible.
Campbell Jones
This is bringing back some memories ( some painful ) of my days spent down markham pit as a Bevin Boy.
Jade Aberystwyth
Loving the griffiths family from cardigan they are a right laugh a minute!!
Nenagh form blaenafon!
Hehe rhodri and the piggies!! aww so sweet !! class!!!X
Simon Aberdare
All of them are stars, real troopers. Rhodri is an absolute treat, in the realm of stars he is Antares !! I could listen to Mrs. Griffiths laughing all day. The best show on TV for decades!!
Mark Thomas from Cardiff
Fish n Chips:"And I cooked sausages!" - classic! This should have been shown on the main show! Those two are hilarious!
Mr Hughes and Y4 from Oystermouth Primary, Mumbles
We think that Rhodri is funny, he's a superstar. We like piggies but we understand how he feels!
Mike, Pontypool.
True to life, great show.
Gemma from Blackwood
How funny was it when Joe got paid last night, he was so not impressed with his 10 bob, and when the griffith's family was taking the mick about his finger, it's an awesome bit of telly.
H & K, Llangefni (again)
Everyone taking part are stars. The 1927 living conditions come to life. Hardship and sorrow is already showing throughout and can only get worse. This is real life, not acting. Cerdin and Debra's humour and giggles still addictive. Best series on telly. Congratulations.
Lisa Nicholls from varteg near Blaenavon
They are all stars, for agreeing to do the challenge. I think a lot more youngsters should take part because they take everything for granted. Water, electricity, heating, television, etc.
Rebecca (aged 7)
Rhodri is the star of the show so far, because he doesn't like piggies.
Hefin and Karen, Llangefni
Stars of the show so far ... the Griffithses for their sense of humour, we join in with their giggles.
June Jones Oakdale
Rhodri is most definitely the star of the show so far. The clip of him on the programme with his mam cleaning him after his little accident will be with him for all time(very embarrassing when you're 18) Also,`I don`t like piggies` was hilarious.
harri aged 6
my favourite bit was Rhodri saying he didnt like piggies
grumpysson from Newbridge
All are stars, I bet they never realised what they let themselves in for! Brings back memories of how my grand-parents homes looked, and makes me think of how hard it was for my mother and father being members of 7 and 11 people families respectively.
