Watch the Coal House men at the pub
What is your involvement in Coal House?
I am the landlord of the Lamb and Fox pub where Cerdin, Joe and Richie have been caught drinking once or twice. I've owned the pub for 30 years. It suits me just fine on the mountain just outside Blaenavon.
Many pubs these days are full of large television screens, juke boxes and gambits. We've kept away from those trends because we wanted to keep this a typically traditional pub. For this reason it was an ideal location for the Coal House men to drink.
The Lamb and Fox has a history of being filled with miners and cavers so the topic of conversation from the Coal House miners is very familiar to what we've been used to over the years.
What kind of punters are the Coal House men?
The Coal House miners have dropped in a few times after a hard shift in the pit. The boys don't mind a drop, and there's always a great atmosphere when they're here.
Cerdin is a bit of a boy. I felt a bit sorry for Joe after he injured his finger and was unable to go down the mine. He really wanted to work and be one of the men. Joe's also been a bit worried how he will be received by Coal House viewers. Richie is a very hard worker. You can tell that he had done a bit of work before. You can tell by the way a man picks up a shovel.
