Brian is decidedly unhappy with life at the flat with Wendy and the baby. Jac continues to string a pack of lies to Agnes about Brian's feelings towards her. He tells her he is deeply in love with Wendy and that there is no chance of him leaving her and the baby.
Wendy and Brian are involved in yet another row. She asks him whether or not he wants to leave. Brian refuses to reply. Agnes tells Arwyn that there is no hope of reconciliation between her and Brian. She tells him that the marriage is over.
Brian calls at the Yacht Club on his way home from work. He talks to Arwyn about Wendys behaviour. Brain makes a quick exit when Arwyn tells him that he had seen Agnes the previous day. Agnes has invited Jac Whelan to her house for supper. He tells her that he has not seen Brian all week. The main reason being the fact that he is infatuated with his new family. Agnes tells Jac that she finds him a great comfort to her. Arwyn is in bed. He's again drunk. He drops a lit cigarette on the duvet. The room is ablaze.
