BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Prize The main prize, won by Nicole Cabell from the USA, is £10,000 plus engagements with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera, and a trophy donated by Welsh Royal Crystal.
BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize Introduced as a separate competition in 2003, competitors wishing to enter submit a full programme of art song. For the first time this year, there was a separate Final for this. It was won by Andrew Kennedy from England.
He received £5,000, a Rosenblatt Recital at St John's Smith Square in London, a trophy donated by Welsh Royal Crystal and membership of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists Scheme.
Audience Prize The Audience Prize, new in 2003, is worth £2,500. This prize is entirely decided by the audience in St David's Hall and at home, and can be won by any of the singers, whether or not they reached the Final. In 2005 it was won by Hayoung Lee from Korea.
The Audience Prize is given in association with the Wales Tourist Board.
The Song Prize is given in association with the Rosenblatt Recital Series.
