The 2007 competition took place from 9-17 June.

Pre-concert talks

Simon Rees, Welsh National Opera's dramaturg, gave a talk about the repertoire before each concert and recital. They took place in the top foyer of the venues 45 minutes before each event, and lasted for 20 minutes.

  • 11am: Brigitte Fassbaender and Håkan Hagegård with accompanist Phillip Thomas
  • 3pm: Helmut Deutsch and John Fisher with accompanist Simon Lepper

Weston Gallery, Anthony Hopkins Centre, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, 12.30pm and 3pm
Master classes: for non-finalists; also open to a student from the RWCMD.

  • 12.30pm: Gundula Janowitz
