What happens at the hospital?

The doctor says:
If you're referred to the specialist, the next step is to give you an ultrasound scan.

It involves a kind of paddle, moved over your testicles, wired up to a screen. It's the same kind of thing as the scan they do on pregnant women's stomachs, which you'll have seen on TV.
