Wyn grew up on a farm with Saturdays spent cooking with mum and as his skills at baking grew,
his cakes and pies won prizes at the village shows!
"On Saturdays we had a choice: work with Dad on the farm or help Mum with the cooking and baking. Easy - be out in the wet with only a dripping sheep dog as company or be in the warm with the smell of fresh baked cakes filling the air and the odd, sneaky bite to fill my stomach.
Around this time my Mum bought me my first cookbook and I was taught how to get the best out of the ingredients we had. As I got better my cakes and pies were entered for various competitions and success wasn't far away.
Within a few years I was beating Mum and becoming a regular winner in our village shows. I even caught Mum changing the labels on our sponges so that she would come out on top.
As my skills grew, so did my cookery collection, it now stands at over 800 and grows with every car boot sale and charity shop I visit.
My wife was enticed with my cooking. I found lots of complicated vegetarian dishes to show off my culinary talent. After many meals lovingly prepared it worked, and now we've been married for over 11 years.
These days I often find myself in the kitchen with my two daughters on a wet Saturday morning with the same book Mum gave me as a child, bringing to life again the delicious recipes that lie within its battered covers.
As for my wife, of all the intricate and interesting meals I have prepared for her over the years, what does she always ask for? Cheese on toast!"
