Rob Reed: Load of Rubbish is Music to My Ears

Load of Rubbish is Music to My Ears

By Rob Reed
May 2005, Wrexham
A digital story from Yale College

"Some people say that music is the language of the soul. Music means a lot to me, it always has and it always will. There's nothing better than finding some beautiful, organic sculpted beats and bass speaking tunes that have been twisted together with some soulful melodies that send tingles down your spine and send you on a peaceful excursion.

Whenever I listen to music it inspires me, every sound adds to the journey but only a certain few carry me off into an electronic paradise. All the different sounds penetrate in my ears giving me feeling of excitement that in turn sets me off thinking "maybe I can do this". A plan then starts to escape from my brain which revolves around me getting the equipment needed to start off an electronic revolution. Unfortunately, this plan never develops outside of my head and I am left trying to make something with a bit of creativity and flare using a keyboard, television, effects box and a forward track. It's not exactly amazing but we all have to start somewhere."
