Peace and Love 2 All

By Bobby Singh
December 2002, Cardiff
A digital story from Capture Wales

Golden Temple

Bobby Singh is a singer and one of his ambitions is to go to Bollywood and record a song as a playback singer.

"Peace and Love 2 all.

Hi, my name is Bobby Singh. I am a Singh by name and a Singer by nature.

I have an incredibly loving extended family. My grandfather 'Swami Vie Singh-Patti' was a very well-known palmist... I have never met him but I feel as if I know him and that he is spiritually guiding me through my life.

Whatever I achieve in life I couldn't do any of it without the love and support I receive from my family.

That's me with Mum and Dad.

Here are my beautiful girls Nilam and Bunam and my boys Caren and Argen.

Whenever I work on a new track I always sing the song firstly to my darlings... by their reactions, I can tell whether its a hit or a miss.

I have great passion for music but also for my faith, Sikhism. I believe that music is a gift from God to mankind and I believe my faith is a path to the eternal truth.

For me to be a true Sikh I have to be baptised. This means taking 'Amrit Nectar' and having the five k's. Kesh, Kanga, Kara, Kirpan, Kaccha or short breeches - but I'm not going to be showing you those.

I've never been to India - that is my dream. I would love to go to Bollywood and record a song as a playback singer but above all my trip would be incomplete without the holy blessing from the Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple 'Amritsar' - The holiest place on earth for Sikh's.

There is but one God who is the Supreme Being. The force behind all Creation. The ultimate reality without fear. Without favour or enmity. Timeless. Without birth. Self created. Realised by the Guru's grace.
