Digital Storytelling Workshops 2008

February 2008: Mobile Phone Workshop

Pupils from a secondary school in North-West Wales will voice, record and edit a short film about something that matters to them using the very latest in mobile phone technology. Look out for these stories on the Cipolwg ar Gymru website in Spring 2008.

March 2008: Digital Storytelling Gatherings

The BBC's Capture Wales team is hosting five Digital Storytelling Gatherings across Wales this Spring.

Digital Storytelling is thriving in Wales with more than 50 groups and many more individuals involved in working with people to share and record their stories. For some it's about introducing people to the technology. For others it's about uncovering the wealth and richness of the unheard voices and the untold stories that each of us has to offer. Either way digital storytelling is out there, and these stories are special and powerful tool for those who share them and for those who watch them. BBC Wales has been running monthly digital storytelling workshops over the last seven years and Capture Wales hopes that these five Gatherings will help contribute to the momentum of this growing community.

What will happen at a Gathering?

- Lots of group hugs and chanting... only joking!

- There will be a chance to meet other people who are involved in digital storytelling from your local area.

- The team will be discussing and showcasing new work that has been done to develop digital storytelling.

- 'Surgeries' for those who would like to ask any questions related to such things as storytelling, copyright issues or technology.

- Much drinking of coffee and eating of biscuits.
