Dylan Thomas' Wales

Cwmdonkin Park in Swansea

Last updated: 06 November 2008

Dylan Thomas is Wales' best known and most celebrated writer. But he also celebrated Wales, in both his work and his life.

Despite periods spent in London, America and elsewhere, throughout his life Dylan Thomas kept returning to Wales.

Here we explore three of the areas that were key to the writer and his family. From his upbringing in Swansea through the inspiration found in New Quay and on to his final resting place in Laugharne, the poet and person was never able, nor willing, to be far removed from his roots.
