Youth Volunteering: Volunteering as a football coach has enabled Nathan to develop his skills. His film made with the support of BBC Connect and Create, looks at how volunteering has boosted his self-esteem and confidence.

Julian approached Nathan to take part in some of the activities at the Respect Programme he runs. Nathan is passionate about football, and he realised he could learn a lot about coaching if he became a volunteer. BBC Connect and Create helped him make this film as part of a UK Youth Volunteers project. Nathan's story shows how his volunteering experiences shaped his career. He gained paid work and a qualification as a project leader. Then he set up his own coaching project in a school working with young disabled children.
