Youth Volunteering: Through volunteering Rhasan became a member of the Youth Parliament. The film he has made with the support of BBC Connect and Create shows how much confidence volunteering has given him.
Rhasan
Rhasan loves living in Hackney and wants to be involved in the shaping of his community. With the support of BBC Connect and Create he has contributed his film about volunteering to the UK Youth Volunteers project. Rhasan got involved in Hackney Voluntary Action when he had nothing to do. He then became a member of the local youth parliament helping make decisions affecting the young people around him. Volunteering has helped Rhasan realise who he wants to be and how he wants to contribute to society. His aspiration is to become Britain's first black Prime Minister.

How refreshing that in this present climate where the majority of our young people (especially in Hackney) recieve such a bad press and are perceived to be 'gun toting, drug taking, hoddie wearing thugs with no morals, conscience or self respect
