Turn Back Time – Bristol: Filmmaker Anita Hummel helped local historian Dr Edson Burton take a walk down Stapleton Road to find out the history of his local high street.
Dr Edson Burton
Stapleton Road in Bristol has a long and rich history. In centuries gone by it was the main trading route from the busy harbours of Bristol to Gloucester and beyond. Dr Edson Burton is fascinated with the history of the area and was delighted to have the opportunity to make a short film for the BBC's Turn Back Time - The High Street project. On his trip down Stapleton Road he speaks to local residents to get a clearer picture of the roads significance and history. The film was made by Anita Hummel.
