Turn Back Time - Eccles: To accompany the BBC One series, community filmmakers in Eccles worked with Video Nation to make this film about the history of Eccles railway station.
Eccles Filmmakers
Eccles Station was opened in 1830. It was one of the stops on the first inter-city passenger routes in the world. As people moving out of Manchester to escape the industrial smoke, Eccles became part of the city's commuter belt. Back on Track was produced by BBC Video Nation Network and volunteer filmmakers, Deborah Brookes, Mike Atherfold, AJ Akande and Tom Berry, along with the support of Freccles. Archive material was provided by Salford Local History Library.
