Headroom - Arts: Community groups in the Black Country have been making happiness houses. They worked with images and stories which brought happiness to mind.
Multistory
Multistory is a community arts organisation based in the West Midlands. Artists there have been working with 7 groups to create a 'happiness map' of the Black Country. During a series of workshops the participants were given the opportunity to decorate a cardboard house with images and stories about what makes them happy. Community groups taking part included teenage parents, older people with dementia, South Asian women, Yemeni women, MIND support group and residents from a women's refuge. The groups used printed text, paint, photographs and other visual media to decorate their 'happiness houses', which will now be exhibited.
