The 14th August 1947 saw the last hours
of British rule in India. At the stroke of midnight, the subcontinent
gained its independence and modern India and Pakistan were born.
To mark this event BBC Video Nation has produced a series of short films
following the British Asian experience in the UK, India
and Pakistan. The films explore subjects including family life,
culture, faith, history and youth, offering a personal perspective on
the links between the UK and Asia in 2007.
