SOPHIE By Domonic Mann
It's the eve of Sophie's first day at school in The Hague. Domonic reflects on what this means. Until now, he and his wife have been the main influences in Sophie's life. Now new people, strangers, will start to play a part. He helps her brush her teeth and gets her ready in the morning, takes her to school and picks her up at the end of the day. They have a conversation, partly in English, partly in Dutch, about her experiences.
