JUBILEE
By Nigel Flory
Nigel discusses how our attitudes to the Queen and the Royal Family have changed since the Silver Jubilee in 1977. He shows us the Jubilee gift he received from the Queen in 1977 when he was a child. Every child in the country received something he remembers. He wonders if it will be the same when the Golden Jubilee comes around.

Your thoughts about this video

Ian Fletcher
I was seventeen yrs old in 1977 and looking back it seemed even then that the occasion went by without much notice. Of course, I am talking of this area being central Lancashire and can't speak for other parts of the country. None of my friends or myself received any momento of the occasion and I saw no street parties at all. Sometimes it feels as if these events only take place on the television. I don't expect the 50 yr mark as being any different.
