AFTERLIFE
By Jean-Vernon Bosly
Jean-Vernon is in hospital. He is in his eighties and very weak, but calm and cheerful. His former wife, Peggy visits and they both wonder about the after-life and what it might hold, including earthly pleasures.

Your thoughts about this video

Harvey
I hope i'll be this brave!

Laura
I worry about death, and I'm very young. I can only hope I get more and more used to the idea rather than more panicky the closer it gets! I hate wasting time worrying too, but it is so hard to comprehend.

David
I'm 40 now, so the question of death has begun to come into my thoughts more and more often. I feel that I'm supposed to fear death, but I cannot understand why I should fear something that I'll know nothing about. I think I fear the prelude to death more than the event itself and the possibility of a lingering illness. I've decided that it is a waste of life to worry about death and have resolved never to do so again.

Iain Jenkins
Although I agree with Tim that the thought of death is unsettling, I think I aspire to Jean-Vernon's approach - while he obviously doesn't want to die, he seems to be taking it very calmly and is inquisitive about it too. Hopefully as I get older I'll become more like that!

Tim
It depresses me quite a lot when I think about what happens after death. I hope when I get old I will be able take it all in my stride as I can't imagine anything worse than being old and not wanting to die. It's something we all have to deal with sooner or later. I hope that there is an afterlife but have a funny feeling that all there is is right in front of us to see. Religion is just a way of sugar coating what scares human beings the most. Always has been and always will.
