BIRD SONG
By Jarrod Sneyd
In spring it can be biting cold at 5am on the Staffordshire Moorlands, but Jarrod regularly gets up in the middle of the night to listening out for changes in bird song in the Coombes Valley Nature Reserve. Sometimes he just shuts his eyes and listen to the stirring sounds of the Dawn Chorus. Jarrod also has concerns about the decline in woodland bird species over the decades and he is working on a natural habitat that will encourage and protect both migrant and local birds in the reserve.
