VIKING
By George Cowley
As a natural fortress in the middle of the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man was ideal for the Vikings to raid the surrounding countries. A DNA test showed that George is a direct descendant of the Vikings. In the sixties he took part in re-enacting the history of the Vikings landing and fighting with the Celts. Following these events, the world's oldest parliament was formed. After a thousand years it still gathers on 5th July every year on Tynwald Hill.
