THE MANX LAND GIRLS
By Jean Skinner
The Women's Land Army was formed when all the men went to war. Jean remembers travelling on the wagon all around the Isle of Man to work on the fields and to look after the cows and horses. She remembers that you weren't allowed to keep your hair down in case it got caught in the farm machinery. Even though it was hard work - Jean enjoyed those times.
