Helen Mark

Hello - I’m Helen Mark and being part of the ‘Kist o Wurds’ team is a lovely opportunity for me to keep alive my own Scottish roots. I’m from Kelso in the Scottish Borders and have always had a great interest in and love of Scottish history and culture: so meeting people who celebrate their Ulster-Scots connections adds another dimension to that.

I have been in broadcasting for a long time! I am the presenter of Radio 4’s ‘Open Country’ and have, throughout my career, been part of many, many programmes on Radio Ulster, Radio Foyle, UTV and on network TV with ‘Countryfile’ and ‘Greenfingers’. All fabulous opportunities to travel, meet new people and hear their stories. ‘Kist’ adds another wonderful element to my time in broadcasting.
