Some Scarva History

Local historian, George Patton, takes a walk round Scarva village with John Minnis and points out the former salt works and talks about Scarva’s heyday as a major inland port.

They visit the local Presbyterian Church and St Matthew’s Parish Church and George talks with great affection about the famous raparee or highwayman, ‘Count’ Redmond O’Hanlon. (Broadcast: 25th April 2010)
