Ulster Scots as She Tummels

Ulster Scots as She Tummels

Doreen McBride

Ulster-Scots, also called Ullans, is the language once spoken by people living in the lowlands of Scotland and parts of the north of Ireland. It is still spoken in the north of Ireland by 100,000 people today and is officially recognised as a minority language: a lot of its vocabularly has percolated into everyday speech throughout Ireland.

The aim of this book is simply to share and deepen the author’s appreciation of a language that flows with apt description, wit and humour with the hope that it will inspire some to delve into more academic studiesd
