Wednesday 4th November 2009 – Football
Hi,
As promised this week's diary entry is all about football. Arsenal played Liverpool in the fourth round 一轮 of the Carling Cup last Wednesday night so with three friends I made the journey to Arsenal's Emirates stadium 体育场 in North London for the occasion.

It seems that Arsenal takes its role as a pillar of the community 社区的骨干 very seriously. The club's conviction 信念 that football should be affordable 玩儿得起的 to everyone is to be admired 令人敬佩的. We got our tickets for £20 (about 220 yuan) each. Members pay a mere 极少的 £10 (about 110 yuan).
I'd love to hear from any football fans in China. Who do you support? How popular is football in China at the moment?
Best wishes,
Emmet
