Is hip hop dead?
Benji Reid stands before us, centre stage and asks, is hip hop dead?

Benji is an urban Renaissance man, dynamically reinventing, revising and revisiting aspects of modern black culture.

13 Mics and B Like Water are two of Benji's most powerful and lyrical productions.

Accompanied by three musicians and a DJ; Benji travels from be-bop to hip-hop and all stops in between.

Using body popping as a physical vehicle, Benji transport his characters from each of the 13 mics to the next; delivering street style prose and rap.

B Like Benji
In B Like Water, Benji explores the roles that heroes play in our lives.

Encased in the funk laden sounds of some serious live bass guitar, drums and Dj-ing, he layers his exuberant variety of skills with contemporary vision.

"Benji Reid is one of the most stunning theatre artist on the scene today - the way he uses his body, voice and spirit to tell a story is truly a sight to see"
Will Power

A hip-hop kid from the streets of Chorlton, Manchester, Benji has free-styled his fate, and carved out a career in diverse physical theatre.

In the only north-east date of his national tour, Benji brings his hard-hitting B-boy style to Queen's Hall Arts, Hexham.

An experience not to be missed.
