Newcastle Airport has its own station on the Tyne & Wear Metro (see below), this provides rapid access to the city centre, mainline rail links, the coast and south Tyneside. The Metro links directly to mainline and local rail services at the Central Station in Newcastle..

The Airport is located directly off the A696, which links directly to the main A1 North South Trunk road. Busses run from a number of locations to the airport, long distance coaches are also operated from a number of cities. The airport is also well served by taxis including the airport taxi service which operates from the main entrance of the airport.

Its routes run to Whitley Bay and the coast in North Tyneside, South Shields in South Tyneside and North to Gosforth, North Tyneside and Newcastle Airport.
