This Halloween, a team of ghost-hunters from the North East are spending the night in a haunted cinema in Newcastle city centre, searching for evidence of ghostly goings on.

Ghost Haunted North East will be spending the night at the Tyneside Cinema, on Pilgrim Street, monitoring the building for signs of paranormal activity.

The team, who are based in the region, specialise in paranormal investigations around the UK, and have years of experience under their belt.

They have performed a number of high profile investigations and have recently taken part in filming for a major television programme dealing with haunted properties.

Part of the Ghost Hunted North east team
Gordon, Simon, Garry, Danny Dean and Paul - just some of the ghost hunters.

However, their annual spectacular has been saved for the scariest night of the year, and BBC Tyne has been invited along.

Before the hunt begins, the team are holding a meal in the Quayside-based Copthorne Hotel, including a talk by Dean Maynard the team leader.

If you fancy some spine tingling stories, you can still get hold of a ticket and you might even get the chance to win a night on an investigation.

Shortly after the meal, we move to the secret venue and start searching for the paranormal and the possibly petrifying. I mean, it can't be that scary can it? Can it?

Stay tuned to BBC Tyne for the low-down on the night's activities, and to see if the team survived.
